Hands-On Youth Learning
KNOX is dedicated to enriching students’ awareness of Hartford’s natural resources and helping them understand more about food production and the health benefits of fresh local produce.
Environmental Education engages and inspires students in Hartford. We host field trips at the KNOX Headquarters Farm for Hartford youth, grades K through 5.
During visits to the KNOX Farm, students gain hands-on, experiential learning that connects them to the natural world in their city.
Our curriculum covers exciting topics like gardening, composting, waste reduction, seed germination, healthy eating, and maple tapping. Students can see, touch, and taste a wide array of produce – and many receive their first experience growing food.
