Join KNOX in conserving and cultivating Hartford’s green spaces, planting trees, and maintaining community gardens. Volunteer opportunities are open to all!
Green Team
Meet up with KNOX volunteers monthly to tackle environmental projects in Hartford
Small groups (12 or fewer) of middle school and high school students, supervised by school personnel, who work on a specific task for two hours
One-Time Volunteer Groups
10 to 40 people affiliated with businesses, colleges, schools, or service groups, spend 3-8 hours volunteering at KNOX or a neighborhood site focused on a single large task
Community Volunteers
Adults, often community or school garden coordinators, assist KNOX by facilitating communication and coordination at sites in their communities.
Individual Volunteers
Individuals provide clerical assistance for educational programs or gardening activities, on a regular basis over an extended time period
Corporate Volunteers
Companies and organizations create team-building opportunities to help the community
Committees
Groups, usually adults, collaborate to assist in activities including program development and fundraising
Love Hartford Week
Every October, KNOX also holds a citywide cleanup where, over the course of a few days, hundreds of volunteers are empowered to clean and restore Hartford neighborhoods by:
picking up litter and debris
removing graffiti
painting
planting flowers and greenery
The volunteer opportunity is available to residences, school groups, churches, businesses, and organizations.
Register now and select a public space. KNOX provides everything you need: trash bags, litter picks, rakes, brooms, gloves, and other donated materials.
