Job Title: Program Project Assistant
Reports To: Director of Programs

MISSION: Using horticulture as a catalyst for community engagement, KNOX forges partnerships between residents,
businesses and government, providing leadership to build greener, stronger, healthier and more beautiful
neighborhoods in Hartford.

DESCRIPTION:
The Program Project Assistant position will focus on the implementation of the KNOX Urban Farming and Workforce
Development Programs.

This is a full time position (40 hours/week) well-suited for a detail-oriented and organized professional with
administrative experience. An interest in urban agriculture, grant management and career readiness is helpful.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Assist with recruitment and retention for program participants during each program cycle
● Support application and onboarding process for program participants
● Coordinate implementation of the KNOX Urban Farming program curriculum and improve curriculum effectiveness.
● Tracking of activities and outcomes of program participants during and within 6 months post program.
● Assist efforts to engage training implementation in connection with state, regional and local partners
● Conduct outreach to increase awareness of our program and resources.
● Create a process to connect KNOX’s landscaping partners and past participants through a “KNOX Alumni Network”.
● Act as a liaison between golf crew and apprentices.
● Implement pre and post program evaluations
● Manage training schedule for program participants
● Provide administrative support and communication efforts for Urban Farming Advisory group
● Support workshops related to urban agriculture and workforce development
● Identify materials and equipment needs.
● Coordinate ordering and delivery of materials and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
● Project management experience
● Detail oriented
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Knowledge of community resources
● Experience working on a team
● Must have reliable transportation
● Must be able to lift 50lbs with reasonable accommodation
