This event invites all school-aged Hartford youth to join us for an afternoon of food and fun to celebrate African American freedom and achievement! Community members and KNOX Program Partners are invited to share activities and opportunities for children of all ages.

Hundreds of people joined in for the inaugural event in 2022 and all pledged to return! Featuring great local beer, local food trucks, and fabulous music, the KNOX Beer Garden supports the 21 community gardens in Hartford managed by KNOX and showcases the ONLY working farm in Hartford – and it’s right on Laurel Street!

Designed to highlight the stories of businesses, individuals, and community groups dedicated to beautifying the city and improving neighborhoods, this series of events engages Hartford residents, friends, neighbors, and corporate and private volunteers from the region in actively beautifying our Capital City. Last year, over 500 volunteers supported 26 major projects, including tree maintenance and plantings at public parks, garden and street clean ups, repairs, and renovations throughout Hartford
